Creation & Production

Grants for individuals, collectives, and dance organizations


National 

The Canada Council for the Arts provides production project support to Canadian dance professionals (individuals), collectives and non-profit companies working in all dance forms, genres and specializations through Production Project Grants in Dance, as well as to Aboriginal Peoples Production Grants in Dance. Please be on the lookout for their new funding model.

The Canada Council for the Arts also provides grants to professional Canadian non-profit dance companies to support the creation, production and remount of dance works through Creation/Production in Dance: Multi-Year and Biennial Grants as well as to Aboriginal Peoples Dance Companies through Annual and Multi-Year Grants to Aboriginal peoples Dance Companies. Please be on the lookout for their new funding model.

Provincial

The Ontario Arts Council offers grants for research and development, production and presentation of professional dance, as well as funding for dance series and festivals and community initiatives across the province through Dance Initiatives.

Arts Nova Scotia offers grants for creation, presentation, development, and (in some cases) travel and professional development in the arts, as well as operating grants for arts organizations. 

Regional

The Toronto Arts Council provides funding to professional choreographers, organizations and collectives for the creation, production and presentation of dance works, and other projects that support the development of professional dance through Dance Projects programs.

The London Arts Council helps London artists research, create and produce works of art in disciplines including music, visual, theatre, craft and dance through their Community Arts Investment Program.

The City of Peterborough supports creative activity by professionals or non-professionals in various fine and applied art forms through their Community Grants.

The City of Ottawa supports professional artists and not-for-profit arts organizations in the creation, production, presentation, exhibition and dissemination of the literary, media, performing and visual arts through their Arts Funding Program.

Keep your eye on the Guelph Arts Council page for rotating calls for submissions to access project funds (these funds are not dance-specific). If you are a charitable organization, The Guelph Community Foundation accepts applications for projects/activities involved in Arts and Culture.
