On December 16, 2009 the federal government passed Bill C-56, the Fairness for the Self-Employed Act. The legislation extends Employment Insurance (EI) special benefits, which are maternity, parental, sickness and compassionate care benefits, to the self‑employed on a voluntary basis. This information session is your chance to hear about what this may mean to you and ask questions directly to a Service Canada Citizen Services Specialist in the company of other artists.
