Professional Development

The Canada Council for the Arts  offers grants to individual Canadian dance professionals to pursue projects involving professional development, research, creation, apprenticeship, mentorship or sabbaticals, as well as Indigenous arts-specific grants

The Ontario Arts Council offers Chalmers Professional Development Grants to provide professional artists in Ontario opportunities to acquire new skills that advance their art practice, as well as Chalmers Arts Fellowships for mid- to late- career artists.

The Ontario Arts Council  also offers grants to dance schools and professional dance companies whose mandate is to foster Aboriginal and culturally diverse expressions in dance for training dance students and professional dance artists: Aboriginal and Culturally Diverse Dance Training.

The Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) has resources for both members and non-members including workshops and conferences, grants & awards, professional counselling and an online job board. Click here.
