This workshop is for all dance artists who want to improve their knowledge about dance contracts either as engagers or engagees.

  • Hear expert advice from our lawyer, Glenn Wheeler.
  • Listen to the experience of dance artists – Nova Bhattacharya, Jennifer Dick and Meagan O’Shea.

  • Learn how to use the CADA-ON agreement template.

  • Get answers to your questions in a hand’s-on exercise as you write a contract.

CADA-ON is a non-profit organization that empowers and educates its membership of dance professionals to promote the art form in society. CADA-ON publishes Professional Standards for Dance (PSD) and its programs include the Training Subsidy Program, Accident Insurance, Professional Development Program, Professional Discounts and joint membership with Canadian Dance Assembly. CADA-ONs PSD and programs reflect a holistic dance community where an artist’s working life may encompass multiple roles - contractor, contractee or member of a collective – an alternative to the traditional labour/management model.
